Draymond Green calls out “Depressed Warriors fan” in late-night tweet

Let’s add #DraymondGreenAfterDark to the fun list of social media trends, shall we?

OK, so it was only one night. But the Warriors forward engaged with Dub Nation on Twitter for an extended amount of time Saturday night, and in true Draymond fashion, he didn’t disappoint.

In fact, when a Twitter user with the name “Depressed Warriors fan” tweeted Green with some unsolicited advice, the three-time NBA All-Star offered up a perfect response.

Ah, yes. Not that anyone in Dub Nation needs the reminder, but before names like Green, Steph Curry and Klay Thompson surged the Golden State franchise back into basketball lore, it was quite difficult to be a Warriors fan. In fact, the organization went 40 years without an NBA title until winning the 2014-15 NBA Finals.

Sure, the 19-19 Warriors are a far cry from their dynasty days, but advancing to five straight NBA Finals and winning three of them is obviously still pretty dang good.

Green had plenty of time to kill Saturday night, as he had to report to Chase Center for a mandatory COVID-19 test at 10:30 p.m., something he was far from pleased with.

Understandably so. With most of the country losing an hour of sleep due to Daylight Savings, Green is at even more of a disadvantage, as he especially will need to be well-rested the next couple of days. The Warriors kick off a tough back-to-back against the Utah Jazz and Los Angeles Lakers, respectively, at Chase Center starting Sunday.

We’ll soon see if Green can be as savage against his opponents coming up as he was on Twitter on Saturday night.
